Borja Barrajón

He dominates an abstract language, which seeks dialogue with the materials on which the work is based, usually marble or alabaster. His work invites us to appreciate the existence of each piece: its interaction with the environment, with the light; its forms, the empty inside spaces or the reason of presence.

“By means of an abstract language, my work is born from the purpose of understanding the space and the limits of the material that supports it. It is built from the dialogue that arises through direct contact with the subject throughout its development, which allows me to question at every step the relationship between the elements that compose it and its formal aesthetics.

Conditioned by the individual’s state of mind and his present context, I understand the work as the synthesis of the conclusions given during the creative process. Pursuing the sensory experience through the object and its light, I invite you to a reading in which to reflect on the order of its elements, the importance of the void that is part of them and the reason for their existence. “
